ARMA is a not-for-profit professional association of over 11,000 records and information management professionals in the United States, Canada, and around the world.

The mission of ARMA International is to provide education, research, and networking opportunities to information professionals. To enable them to use their skills and experience to leverage the value of records, information, and knowledge as corporate assets and as contributors to organizational success.

Code of Professional Responsibility

The Code of Professional Responsibility for records and information managers is intended to increase the awareness of ethical issues among information and records management practitioners. And to guide them in reflection, decision making, and action in two broad areas of ethical concern: society and the profession.

Organizational Structure

ARMA International Headquarters is in Prairie Village, Kansas. ARMA International’s leadership consists of professional staff, committee chairmen, and elected officers.

ARMA International is divided into 12 regions, each with a vice president who serves on the International Board of Directors. At the local level, there are over 150 Chapters throughout the United States, Canada, Japan, and New Zealand.

Western Michigan ARMA’s mission is to promote and advance the professional competence of its members to enable them to provide records and information management leadership and expertise within their organizations and communities, as well as to provide a networking opportunity to share and learn from others.
